Sleepless-Dog Lay Beside Woman And Closed Her Eyes For 1st Time Since Rescue

A wonderful dog, later named Bella, spent her life in a city shelter. Dog shelters in Romania are not like those in the United States. The dogs are usually kept outside and the problems are less than perfect. Because of the poverty in Romania, the shelters do not receive enough food from donors and the dogs do not eat as much as they should.

Bella was underweight and scared. She had never been held or loved. Going to the shelter was breaking her spirit. In the video below, you’ll likely see that Howl Of A Dog, a rescue team in Romania, removed Bella from the shelter to find her a forever home.

The rescuers and sweet Bella go straight to the vet. As she rests next to her new human friend in the car, her expression is one of pure peace. She understands, as she is shown affection, that her life is about to change. Bella was completely exhausted.

The shelter staff informed the rescuers that Bella was barely sleeping. She was having trouble feeling truly safe in her kennel. As she sits there being petted, her eyes start to close. It’s amazing to see her finally relax.

Then Bella does something so comforting. She lays her directly in her rescuer’s lap. As they head to the vet’s office, she gets some sleep. The car is quiet and still and the woman beside her is kind and gentle. This is what Bella needed. Feeling truly safe is everything to a dog.
