A cat named Clancy was rescued after spending most of his life outdoors. The ginger cat had some battle scars and tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus).

Despite this, Clancy loves attention, enjoys talking to people and has the sweetest meow.

Clancy was hanging out in a Good Samaritan home before being brought to a small local rescue group in eastern Oregon. Due to limited resources, they were only able to give Clancy a short-term solution.

They contacted Cat Adoption Team (CAT), a shelter in Sherwood, Oregon, and told them about this sweet cat who loved to head-butt. “We were able to take him in. How could we resist this offer?” said Heather Svoboda, CAT’s communications and development manager .

“His big cheeks and cute, squeaky meow were very unique, but he also has a big heart, a super sweet disposition and tons of charm and personality.”

The redheaded boy was estimated to be about 6 – 7 years old. The CAT veterinary team scheduled Clancy to be neutered, had him undergo dental surgery for a desperately needed cleaning and extractions, and treated his bladder infection.

The sweet ginger cat felt so much better that he started chirping and squealing when he saw his caretakers. (Scroll down to see the video)

CAT staff posted a video of Clancy chatting with his human friend, and it was quickly shared by thousands on Facebook. (Scroll down to see the video)

“So many wonderful people have offered their love, support and encouragement to Clancy. Some people have even donated in his honor, which helps cover the cost of spaying and neutering, the dental care he needs, and to support all the homeless cats and kittens that come to our shelter for care and adoptions.”

Sandy, a resident of Oregon, was completely under the spell of the little redhead. She opened her heart to welcome him into her home.

“CAT has been taking in and finding homes for FIV-positive cats since we opened our doors 20 years ago,” Heather told Love Meow. “We do our best to help these cats in our area and home state as much as possible.”

Now Clancy has a forever human to talk to every day and is the king cat in his home.
