The unconditional love of dogs runs deep, as many stories on the Internet have demonstrated. A lovely senior dog who was acquired at eight months old has reached the age of twenty. A stray dog named Schoep was taken in by John Unger from Wisconsin, USA.

He was over 80 years old and showed no signs of improvement. Ungus, the owner, was preparing for the worst. For the past 19 years, John and Shop had shared a home. Unger recently discovered that his dog had severe arthritis, which had left him paralyzed.

When the vet suggested putting the dog to death, John was horrified, but he refused and chose to save Schoep. For the last few years of his life, John cared for the adorable puppy with all his might, nursed him back to health, clung to him and would not leave him. John was constantly by his side. To reduce joint discomfort, Unger began swimming with the dog.

Schoep benefits from swimming because it relieves stress on his joints and muscles. The dog was so peaceful that he sometimes fell asleep in his owner’s arms. All of this is captured in a touching photo of John and his dog Schoep, taken by John’s girlfriend Hannah.

“He didn’t swim every time he got in the water; all he wanted to do was grab onto my shoulder and squeeze my foot,” says Unger. “One day he even fell asleep unexpectedly.” Schoep, unfortunately, had already passed away. When John met the dog, he was in bad shape. The dog, on the other hand, never missed his master’s attention.

John was committed to taking care of him and treating him well, and he kept his word. Even in those difficult times, John continued to care for him and try to keep him alive, demanding that he always accompany him in his favorite activities. Let us know what you think of this touching story of friendship, and pray for Schoep in heaven.
