Puppy was using shoes as shelter until one kind-hearted man saved him.

Sometimes a small gesture can change the course of a little creature’s life when it desperately needs help. This little puppy’s days had been nothing but hard, but his fate changed when a kind-hearted man came to him.

While this heartbreaking story has a happy ending thanks to a hero, there are countless other cases like this one, with little creatures left on the side of the road as if they were useless. Perhaps it’s time for humanity to recognize that all beings have feelings and deserve to be cared for.

Fortunately, people like Goran Marinkovic still care about the world we live in, especially the creatures that can’t fend for themselves, like stray animals. One day, while driving around Serbia looking for stray animals, he came across a sight that broke his heart. A small puppy that had found refuge in a shoe was sitting there, starving and surrounded by garbage.

Goran realized that this helpless puppy had been abandoned because there was no sign of his mother or other dogs. So he stepped in, saved him and changed his life forever!

“I rescue endangered animals living on the streets,” this generous man explained in an interview with Bored Panda. “I take care of animals because I love them; I love all animals, cats, dogs and others…”.

Goran first fed and watered the sick puppy, whose condition seemed to be deteriorating, before taking him to the clinic. After receiving medical treatment, the adorable little guy went to Goran’s house, which became his forever home when the man who rescued him decided to adopt him.

Here, the dog named Smesten received not only proper food and care, but also the love and comfort he needed. Smesten looks so different now, a few months after being found abandoned!
