Severely Injured Dog Drags Herself Over To Jogger Who Finds Her

Lilac the dog was trying to survive with a broken jaw and damaged leg when a jogger in Atlanta, Georgia noticed her cowering under a car. Other canines and strangers had severely attacked the dog. However, when sympathizers approached, she crawled out to meet them. It was almost as if “she knew she was saved.”
Second Chance, Rescue NYC Dogs, located in New York City, transported her to the clinic, where she received prompt emergency care. Further veterinary examination revealed that in addition to severe leg injuries and a broken jaw, Lilac also had stomach injuries from bullets trapped in her body!
Despite his injuries, Lilac’s tail wagged whenever someone paid attention to him.
Lilac survived surprisingly well after a few days of waiting.
“There is a way where there is a will. There’s something special about this little lambchop survivor, guys; she’s so sweet and beautiful,” said Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs.
“She is the type of dog that asks you to take a deep breath, sit back and acknowledge the connection with mutual openness. She has been through a lifetime of heartache and terror, but she still wants to love, give and connect. ”
The vets couldn’t preserve her leg, but they worked miracles to heal the rest of her body. Lilac may only have three legs left, but she is on the mend.
Lilac is now thriving because of all the love and attention she is receiving!
“She’s had to fight for a long time to get to where she is now,” she said. “She may have lost her leg, but she has a family of universal size,” her rescuers added. “She is showered with love from people at the hospital and around the world! We are deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support for Lilac.
