The dachshund who was paralyzed and pregnant finds happiness.

Maria’s owners paralyzed her when she was pregnant…

Like many dogs entrusted to the care of backyard breeders, Maria, the dachshund, was unlucky.

But worse than that, she was shocked and forced to breed while paralyzed and unable to use her back legs!

Then, when her owners realized she would need a C-section that would cost $3,000, they put her down.

That’s when Friends Of Emma came to the rescue! The organization rescues many special needs puppies and Maria was in dire need of a loving hand.

They took her in and soon learned that she was anemic due to a flea infestation. She was also emotionally trau.ma.tiz.ed, probably due to the lack of care she had received.

But Friends Of Emma was determined to give her and her babies a fresh start.

After giving birth (all seven babies were born healthy!), Maria began physical therapy to help with her paralysis and back.

Wait until you see her at 2:05! I couldn’t stop crying. The happiness continued after this video was made and Maria and ALL of her puppies were adopted into wonderful homes!
